WELMCHick…minus the Hick family!

We were disappointed that our reunion this year would be one less family resulting in a WElmck reunion instead of the usual Welmchick but we had a great time and missed the Hicks terribly!

It’s amazing how well the kids pick right back up where we left off the last time we were together. They had a great time together and were actually very sweet to one another! Davis and Jacee held many concerts, dance parties and performances!

Davis and Emmy couldn’t get enough of shushu or Hershey..they loved that he was so chill and didn’t jump on them like their dog, Reese!

Saturday night we enjoyed a kid free night at Patti's! The food was awesome but I must say the company was even better! We laughed so much we got some funny stairs from our waitress and other folks but we didn’t care! We were kid less and remembering the good ole days some years ago!

The Wellington’s lately….

Miss Sticker Queen is now in to bow making! I leave her alone in the sunroom with the stickers and she comes out and says, “Mommy” I look at her and she points to her hair and says “hair bow!” Well yay Emmy you now can add bow making to your resume! HA!

WE loved having friends over to play. Poor Zoe was Emerson’s live baby doll! That should make her start walking!!!

New year 2014…Here I come! Goodbye 2013 and thank you for the blessings and memories you brought us!

I am NOT a resolution girl but I definitely like to look back and reflect on my memories and journey through the last year and think about the new year and what it might involve. So….last year was somewhat a calm year for us….

Walker and I finished the reading the Bible together. Something I have done before but it meant so much more this year doing this with my helpmate, soul mate and spiritual leader!

Baby Mack joined our family as my first nephew and the kids first cousin in the “Poston” family.

Emerson turned one! And has continued to grow up so much and so quickly!

Davis turned four and started preschool at a church in town.

My brother and his girlfriend became engaged!

In 2014 we are looking forward to these planned events…

Davis will turn 5 and begin kindergarten at Medina Elementary.

Emerson will turn 2 and will hopefully become potty trained!

Walker and I will celebrate 13 years together in April!

Walker and I celebrate 10 years as husband and wife in May and take a trip just for us to celebrate our amazing journey as husband and wife!

Jarrett and Stephanie become husband and wife in June. Davis and Emerson will be in ANOTHER wedding!

I sure love wondering, praying and thinking about this year and what will happen with our family in 2014. I pray we continue keeping Christ our head, serving others and putting their needs over our own, reaching out to those in need, making and keeping great friends, serving our church family in any imaginable way, teaching our kids daily to be like him, love him and want to be with him!

I have a couple of new year new ideas for me and hope that I am able to work towards all of them.

I plan on committing myself to a year of prayer (using a prayer journal, praying at that moment when prayer is needed, praying with people instead of for, etc.). I hope to teach our high school girls at church and not only lead them to him but become their friend, example and role model through a relationship with them. Strengthen my existing friendships and begin new ones as well. Take care of myself (if I don’t take care of me how will I serve others). Most moms are so guilty of not taking care of them and they wind up burnt out, over weight and exhausted….not me, not this year! Mom time will be essential and no more guilt about it! Spend less time on phone, social media, texting, etc. and more time with real faces! Making my husband number one priority under my god but over my children. Date nights are essential, mommy and daddy time a must. Ten years strong and going to keep adding years for sure! Be less condemning/judgmental and choose to disagree if I disagree. Too many times I go along with what people are saying to avoid conflict even if I disagree. Most the time I eat my words if I judge and I end up in the same situation. (I can’t believe that child is ____, next thing I know my child is _____) Be careful what you say, it just might happen to you! Continue working PRN with the Skilled facility in town and remain a positive influence in my coworker and my patients lives. If anything allow them to see Christ in me!

I pray 2014 is a beautiful year and pray God’s most wonderful blessings on my family and yours!

Emerson…20 months

To my dearest Emerson,

Emmy, Emerson, sissy, Em first I must tell you darling we love you! You  are so full of life and so busy that you keep us smiling at skinny all at the same time! HA! You wake up in your bed at 7am or whenever you hear your brother playing and running through the house and you are ready to jump up and join the fun. You usually ask to see a show or Elmo but daddy always brings you to see mommy who is waiting to see her sweet girl in my bed. You snuggle with me for a minute or two then you are ready to see “bubba” and a “show” on the “pad.” That hair of yours is usually always in your face so you also ask for a hair bow so you can see! After your hair is situated and you have seen bubba and a show it is time to make messes till we eat!

You continue to eat like a champ and you are always up to trying new things. You love to drink your milk and your occasional juice and you especially love stealing bubbas cup to see if his tastes better than yours!

You wear size 4 diapers and are in 18-24 month clothes. You love wearing your “squeak squeak” shoes and you adore jewelry. Your motto is the more the better! You really prefer being naked as to wearing clothes but nonetheless when you are dressed you love to show off what you are wearing!

You love playing with others and love babies! You love to watch Barney or Elmo and are still a big fan of books. Playing with your babies and balls is still on top of your list as well. You love to write and will stick stickers anywhere you desire! You have helped me understand why things don’t necessarily need a place..you will but hair brushes in your Sippy cup drawer, spatulas in the bathtub, bracelets in with books, etc.!

You have recently switched to one nap a day and we are still working out the kinks but you sleep after lunch for a couple of hours and are ready to go till bedtime!

You are talking and comprehending so many things I cannot even list them. You will say up to three word utterances and will follow 2 and 3 step commands. You love to dance and put on a show and your new dress up container is one of your favorite things.

You are so different than your sweet brother and I am finding out daily how perfect you are balancing out our family! Thanks for bringing the spunk, fun and laughter you have brought our way! We love you Emmy!

Our amazing God please continue to bless this sweet baby girl! Help her to see you in us and want to be more like you! Keep her bond with her brother close and give her a sweet spirit! Guide us as parents on how to parent her and give us the strength we need to teach her your will!
