Such a sweet Sunday for us. Last week we celebrated Baby Day at Skyline. There were 11 babies, WOWSERS, born in the church so far this year and they were all honored and celebrated. It was such a touching day. They played videos of each baby while their parents read them a prayer or a blessing. Davis helped us complete ours and although Walker’s part was omitted, it was so touching! I can’t wait to show it to Emmy as she grows. I will try to recap the morning with pictures and then I will post the link when I get it from the children’s minister.
Our video consisted of photos of our family with Emerson from birth until now, while we read this blessing…
Emerson Oneita you truly are a blessing from God. Our lives have been forever changed by your arrival. From day one, your innocent eyes and infectious smile has captured the hearts of your entire family. We wish that we could keep you a baby forever. However, we know that growing up is part of your journey. As you continue on your journey, it is our prayer that you will experience life to its fullest, learn to view each day as a gift from God, and strive to make the world around you a better place. We cannot promise you that the journey will be trouble free. However, what we can promise is this…We will always be there to listen, help, cheer, encourage, and love you no matter the circumstances.
As people of faith, your Mom and I want to share our faith with you. We want for you to know God and seek after him above all else. We want your desire to be like Christ to be never satisfied. Emerson, we know that you will fail and make mistakes. God’s promise to you is the same promise that we make to you…There is nothing that you can do to separate yourself from God’s love or from our love.
Emerson, you are a blessed girl who has many people that love you and genuinely care for you. One of your biggest fans, is your big brother Davis. You already have a special relationship with him. He is so proud that you are his little sister. Davis: I just really love you. You are the best sister ever.
Emerson, God knew what he was doing when he gave you to us. Thank you God for blessing us with Emerson.
The pictures were in a little better order, but you get the point! I have to tell you, Davis laughed out loud the entire video..he was so proud! People could not stop talking about his face as he watched and heard himself talk to his sissy. Without a doubt one of the sweetest moments and I know I will remember it forever! He is so proud to call her his sister, I hope this love never fades!
These are pictures taken from that morning when we went to the front to pray a prayer of blessing over them and pledge as parents to raise them in a Godly home!
This was the program…
the middle where you can see all the children born…Emmy is on the lower right side
and then the parents pledge and prayer..
What an emotional and lovely day! So fortunate to have found a home that places such an importance on our babies and making sure they grow up the way God intended them too; not with material things that are unnecessary, but with the Word and sweet family/friends to love and teach them along their journey! They each received a tool to help them along their journey…a precious Bible! Davis was so proud they now have matching Bibles!
